Does anyone suggest a good third party tool (preferably
free) that would give better logging to the vpn clients
attempting connection to the SBS 2000 server.  I have
tried using the isaviewer from the resource kit and it
just gives generic info.

We have some clients who are "connected" per the XP client
and the SBS RAS console stating so, but cannot ping or
access internal ip's.  If they disconnect and reconnect
things sometimes fix themselves.

I wonder if there are better logging or monitoring tools
that I can use on the client and the server to see if
there are timeout issues due to lacency across the
internet or packets being dropped somewhere.

Thanks,

Ed

Hi Ed,

Have you got all you can out of RRAS logging already? By default, only
minimal information is logged. Go to properties of RRAS, and click on the
logging tab and see if you can crank it up a notch or two.
