I am having problems doing client transfers with years 2001 & 2002 versions.
Version year 2000 works. Program is installed to a new SBS 2000 server into
the company shared folder. The only way anyone can do a transfer is with
Domain Admin rights. Intuit says this is the preferred way. Intuit says
Power users should work, but they don't. All users are currently Domain
User status. All workstations are XPPro. Intuit also says the server or
workstation permissions must be wrong. I have found nothing wrong anywhere.
Has anyone got first hand information on this Server/Client OS combination?
I and Intuit are at a stand still on this, they only seem to provide
rhetoric. I think it is their program at fault, so I need proof this
product actually works (or doesn't work) on a similar setup. Am I looking
for the needle in the hay stack on this one???

I have had the best luck by leaving them plain domain users and giving them
per machine LOCAL administrator rights by adding the persons to the LOCAL
Administrator group.

Hi Dirk-Thomas,
I already have the users with Local Admin rights. Are your users running XP
Pro? This seems to suspect to me. I have the user with Domain User rights
& have updated to Power User rights and they still can't do the transfers.
Only with Domain Admin rights will it work. Can you give me more info on
the network and OS setup?
I may try deleting their local profiles and recreating.

Fully patched XP Pro workstations, Fully patched SBS 2000. All local users
are set as Administrators in the admistrator group locally (The Workstation
NOT domain) Standard users across the domain (the default template to
changes)

Thanks Dirk-Thomas, that's what I wanted to know. I have the same
conditions, but for some reason it doesn't work. Which tells me something
on my end is the cause.

Just to be sure we understand each other, the program runs all features fine
and dandy except transfers. Your transfer feature works fine, is this
correct?
Thanks

You can transfer a clients personal info from last years taxes to the next
new year. This saves time so you don't have to retype each client -- each
year. It is found on the menu bar under File. It says Tranfer.... Does
this work for you? Thanks

additional help!
