New MOSS 2007 Farm. IE 7.0 client. Kerberos authentication. Working
great except every once in a while - at random as far as time into the
session or the operation that might be going on, the session asks for
authentication again. When we attempt to enter credentials it won't
accept them. If we clip what's in the address line, close IE, and
paste the address line the session continues as if nothing ever
happened without ever requesting authentication.

Thanks for any help or information.

Is it specific to any user.

Is there a misconfigured server in the farm that is randomly being
selected -- do binary search by taking out half the server farm at a
time to see if the issue still happens in the remaining half.

The problem really does not sound like it has anything to do with IIS
or IE itself because software is not random. It really sounds like a
misconfiguration.
