According to the technote I just read and tried, you can't export a mailbox
to a PST on a Exchange 2007 sp1 box. You have to install the 32bit tools and
run it on a xp box then run the export command.
come on guys get with it, you wanted Exchange 64bit only make the blasted
tools 64 bit what a pain.
I just moved it to a 2003 box and used good old exmerge to solve this
problem. Just another nail in the coffin for Exchange 2007 i think. Loved it
since version 5.0 but really see nothing of value only hassles in 2007

Why? You can use exmerge against 2007.

It may be possible to use Exmerge against 2007 but it doesn't come with the
software and is not "officially" support. I was pretty much disgusted after
finding out the approved way doesnt' even work on the server only a 32 bit
machine, so i just moved it to a 2003 box and finished the work.

What did you read that would indicate that you can't use the export-
mailbox cmdlet, in Exchange2007 SP1, to export directly to a PST?
That's the intended successor to exmerge.

So you say I can run the Export-Mailbox command on a 64bit Exchange
2007 server?
When I try to run, I get the following error:
You are running on a 64-bit computer. To export to or import from
a .pst file, you must be running a 32-bit computer that has Outlook
2003 SP2 or later installed.
Also, this article confirms the problem and explains how to run the
Export-mailbox from a 32bit server:

export-mailbox/

I disagree with the trick of working with E2k7 Export-Mailbox on 64-
bit. Refer to MS Documentation.
To export data from an Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2000 mailbox, the
account you use must be delegated the Exchange Administrator role for
the administrative group in which the server resides.
To export data from a .pst file, you must run the Export-Mailbox
cmdlet from a 32-bit computer that has the following installed:
The 32-bit version of the Exchange management tools
Outlook 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Outlook 2007
For information about Exchange 2007 management tools 32-bit download,
see Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Management Tools (32-Bit).
