management tools install

I'm trying to install the 2007 management tools on my backup server, and
during the install it tells me the server name is invalid.
The server name is "server_sql"

How can i get past this message? I can't rename my server, it has SQL and
Backup Exec on it.

Have you found an answer for this yet? I am having the exact same
problem with an underscore in my server name.
