Exchange 2003 database is not reducing the size after offline defragmentation.

Hi all, I am using Exchange 2003 server in my company for email server.
So many times I went for offline defragmentation of database but the
size it always showing same. Even I have deleted so may user account
and the mailbox also then also its showing same. If any one could help
me I will be thankful.

Hi,

You need to look in the application log for event 1221. This event is logged
when the online maintenance is run and will tell you how much space can be
recovered by an offline defragmentation.

Also check the settings for the deleted items retention time and mailbox
retention time.
