I would like to know if there is  a way I can find out if a particular
distribution group is being used or not.

I’m doing a lot of house clean up and I want to streamline all the
distribution groups in our environment.

Thank you,
John

You could try enabling Message Tracking for all of your servers and track
messages sent to the DLs.  Another way is a little more basic and probably
not the coolest way to do it, but try creating a couple of bogus mailboxes.
Insert Bogus-Mailbox-1 in to DL-1, etc... and see if you get any mail for
that mailbox.

HI there Jim,

I do have message tracking enabled but I'm afraid there are so many groups
this would be a big task.

I do like the mailbox feature I can script the mailbox create and group
membership then flag to foward a copy to my inbox for the test.

Thanks for the tips they are great.

Regards,

John
