Can I install an ISA server in the DMZ to host OWA without a front end
exchange server? If I can, I can't find anything on it. Everything I see says
you still need one.

You can put an ISA in the DMZ, that's a good place for it. You do not
need to have an FE as well as a BE on the internal LAN. If there
aren't all that many users it's not necessarily the most effective use
of a server. You can easily direct the ISA at the mailbox server
directly. It's a supported configuration.

Thanks
That only makes since but I can't find any documentation to support it. I'm
sure MS would like you to put in another copy of exchange server.
