I am having difficulty determining how my messages in my exchange 2007
enviroment are flowing. My main concern is that email written in the USA and
that are address to USA recipents are going to my Europe site then back to
the USA for delivery. How can I track to tell if this is the case?
I tried to figure this out first by looking at my AD site structure. All
site links in my AD structure have the same cost. So would the AD site
selection algorithm then use the next Alphanumerically site name? For example
if I had 3 sites:Dublin,Fargo and Oakbrook. Each site has its own Mailbox,Hub
and CA servers and all three site links were the same cost. If user in Fargo
sent a message to a user whos mailbox is hosted on the Oakbrook site would
the mail route: Fargo to Dublin to Oakbrook? I am basing this asumption on
the fact that all site link cost are the same so would the AD Site Select
Algorithm move the message to the next lowest alphanumeric site name in this
case Dublin?
Thanks

So does that mean it procedes alphabeticly from 'F'argo to 'O'akbrook or does
it start from 'A' and get to 'D'ublin?

You can add Exchange cost to site links to modify message routing behaviour.
