exchange 2003 install ok, but only system attendent and management service
start.

ran dcdiag, netdiag, and clusterdiag - all come back ok.

adsiedit does not show exchange server in AD.

Get this error,  "Error 0x80004005 connecting to the Microsoft Active

Is Win2K3 SP2 and issue at all? Because of MSDTC?

Exchange 2003 and prior require the msdc.  Exchange 2007 does not have this
dependency.

Right,

I guess I am not sure if my MSDTC is configured correctly and that is why
exchange installs but services won't

I Created a group "MSDTC Group" with;

IP
Network Name
Shared Disk 1
Shared Disk 2

Distributed Transaction Coordinator and with a Network Name and Physical
Disk as dependencies (wondering if this should have been my Quorum disk?)

Not sure how this should properly be set up. (My Quorum disk is under
"Cluster Group"

Or is it something else why my services won't start?
Get this error,  "Error 0x80004005 connecting to the Microsoft Active
Directory. "

Thanks

For Exchange 2003, the MSDTC is only used during installation and installion
of service packs/hot fixes.  The Deployment guide recommends putting the
MSDTC in the default cluster group (sharing the same LUN as the Quorum).
Evan talks about the guidance here.

THis cfontains the steps to install the MSDTC.

Do I need to create Exchange Virtual Services before exchange starts?

Forget Exchange 2003, it's all about Exchange 2007
