Guys

I'd like a bit of help please. My boss has tasked me with stamping all
emails with a footer.  We have 4 x EX2K3 servers, one being a front-end
server.  All servers run GroupShield and the front end server stamps all
outgoing emails with the companies' standard disclaimer

My boss wants the 3 remaining servers to stamp a random footer onto the
emails that traverse the exchange network. Groupshield does not support this
functionality and only allows me to include a specific piece of text or to
add the "disclaimer" to the file as an attachment

Is anyone aware of any application that will either randomly stamp out going
emails from the MTA or will use a file/db to select a footer to stamp on to
the email

Alternatively does EX2K3 have this functionality?

Furthermore I do not believe that emails generated and destined for users on
the same server will have their emails stamped.  Is this the case?

Steve

Hello,

with Exchange 2003, mails which stay on the same server are not routed over
any SMTP server.

You would have to use an store-wide eventsink to stamp those.

Outbound mails are routed over a SMTP server. To implement the common
method, you would have to relay the outbound methods over to a second mail
server (via Connectors) and implement the ISMTPOnArrival store event sink to
stamp outgoing emails with a disclaimer.

However, I don't know of a tool wich does this out of the box.

Best regards,
Henning Krause
