Hi,

I have set-up Outlook Web Access(OWA) for Microsoft Exchange 2000. It is
working fine if I am inside the office network. If I am outside the office
network and try to access the OWA, it is saying the Page cannot be displayed.
What might be the problem? Is it due to DNS? Even I tried typing the IP
address. but it didn't work? Some people are saying it might be due to
firewall. If so what should I do? PLease let me know.

Thanks,
Sridhar.

Does it say anything else, other than just 'Page cannot be displayed'?
Any error codes or descriptions?

Did you use the Public IP address of your server when you went to
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/exchange ?

You need port 80 open and forwarded on your firewall, unless you use
SSL, which requires port 443.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I am using SSL. I am not sure how to forward  port on
a firewall. Could you explain how to forward port on a firewall?

Thanks,
Sridhar

Well, it varies from model to model, but basically you are looking for
a section called Rules (usually).  You want to create a rule that
tells the firewall to forward incoming port 443 traffic from any
source to the internal IP address of your OWA server.  I assume you
already know how to access the firewall configuration?  It's usually
done through a Web page.  Can you see a section called 'Rules' or
something like that?  If not, what sections can you see?
