Recommendations for both Exhange 2000 and SQL Server 2000

Would you recommend against installing both Exchange 200 and SQL Server on
the same box?  I you did install on the same box, how much memeory would you
recommend?  Thanks in advance!

Don't do it if you can avoid it. It's not so much memory as disk.
Exchange should have OS, logs and store running from different
controllers or at least separate arays. So does SQL. So your disk config
should look like this: a mirrored pair for the OS. A mirrored pair for
the exchange logs. A mirrorred pair for the SQL log. A RAID 5 aray for
the Exchange store. A Raid 5 Array for the SQL data. Since most RAID
controllers have 2 channels, at best you are looking at 3 RAID
controllers and a minimum of 12 HDD. Depending at the volume, I'd be
looking at a quad processor machine, with licensing to go with it, and
I'd start with 4 GB of mem and go up from there. It will be cheaper to
get 2 machines.
