Question:

Is it possible to present the GAL in a webbased application? Just for using
it as an internal phonebook?
Perhaps add some pictures? And would it be able for the personal department
to do some maintanance?

Hello,

you can get the GAL by searching the Active Directory (with ASP.NET you
would use System.DirectoryServices).

See http://www.infinitec.de/exchange/howtos/getgal.aspx for more on this
topic. If you want to modify entries in the GAL, you would modify the
corresponding Active Directory object.

Henning,

Thx for the info: But I am looking for a ready made application. (Even
willing to pay).

Check out Siegfried Weber's Phone List app. I've been able to integrate this
into intranet UIs in the past, works well..
http://www.cdolive.com/phonelist.htm

Else check out 3rd-party apps like Imanami Webdir
(http://www.imanami.com/products/webdir/) or AD White Pages from The Dot Net
Factory (http://www.thedotnetfactory.com/ADWhitePages.aspx).
