Hi All,

I am doing exchange migration from exchange 5.5 to exchange 2000. My domain
structure is that I have a child domain. Problem here is that how can I
migrate my current exchange 5.5 to my exchange 2000 which all the users is in
the child domain? I had try to install ADC in my child domain and
successfull. but when I configure the 2 way connection receipient agreement,
I fail.
Can tell me how to migrate from exchange from my NT environment to My AD
Child domain environment? I had check MS konwledge Base but I fail to get any
info on migrating to child domain. Thank you

eng

Hi,

I can't tell from your post where the exchange 2000 server is located (root
or child domain)?

Either way it should work. Did you run Exchange 2000 setup /forestprep in
the root domain?
Did you run exchnage 2000 setup /domainprep in both domains?
What error message are you receiving when trying to install the ADC?

Hi,

My Exchange is install in my child domain. I had run the domain prep and
forest prep. I manage to install the ADC but the 2 way configuration
connection fail because the user that I use do not have Enterprise admin
right. Since I install ADC in my child domain, the service account that I had
to choose must be in the child domain (this is what I get when I install the
ADC and it prompt that I must select the user which is belong to the child
domain). Child domain user cannot have enterprise admin right and schema
admin right, am I correct?
So how can I migrate my exchange 5.5 to exchange 2000 to my child domain? I
had migrated all my users into the child domain. I had refer to the KB 316886
article.
Thank you very much for your reply. Hope can have further info from you.
thank you.

Hi,

Have you tried to log on to the exchange server with an account that has
enterprise admin and schema admin rights? (like the root administrator
account)
