corrupt view - by category

I have a problem with a public folder view.  When I set the view to "by
Category", it has always in the past listed each category properly, and if a
user existed in more than 1 category, they would appear under each individual
category.  Overnight, this behaviour changed as follow:  for every user who
is a member of more than 1 category, the "by category" view now concatenates
all the categories into 1.

e.g.: user is member of group a and group b
view now shows 1 category as "groupa, groupb" of which the user is visible
another category as "group a" of which the user is no longer visible
another category as "group b" of which the user is no longer visible

compared to before where it showed 2 categories:

"group a" of which the user is visible
"group b" of which the user is visible

the public folder uses a custom contact form with its' own categories
and I have 2 folders that use the same form, 1 folder still works fine

Any ideas how to eliminate these concatenated  categories without deleting
and recreating the folderwould be appreciated

thanks,

Reset the view in Outlook. You can do this either by going into view |
current view | customize current view | reset view (at least, in OL2003) or
starting Outlook once from  Start Run by browing to the full path of
outlook.exe and appending /cleanviews to the end.....

for example,

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" /cleanviews

Pres OK/enter.

Note that this will delete all custom views.
