Hi Jeff,
Send the message in Rich Text or HTML format, so that you can customize the
link in a string, than let Outlook convert a string to link automatically.
Outlook convert a string to file link automatically if it can recognize
some keywords, such file://, Http://, etc..however, it sometimes loses
characters.
Highlight a string, right-click the selected text, and then select
"Hyperlink". You can add the file link here.
Hope it helps.
Regards,
Pat Cai

Thanks, Pat!
I've tried doing that, and it doesn't always work. The closest I can get is
sending a link to the folder containing the file.
I'm trying to send liks to files on a file server, like:
\\server\share\folder%20name\another%20folder%20name\file.ext
I've tried copying the path from the address bar, and a few other options.
There isn't one way that works all of the time.
Thanks again!
Jeff

Put <> around it.
< \\server\share\folder%20name\another%20folder%20name\file.ext>

Hi Jeff,
The typical format of a file link is:
File://Server Name/Folder Name/file.txt
You can add this link to Hyperlink attribute. (Note: not type it in message
directly, right-click on a string and select hyperlink) Based on my
experience, it would surely work no matter if there is a space in the link.
Add <> tag to close the link is also a good workaround ;-)
Hope the information helps.
