Server 2003, Exchange 2003, XP Pro, Office 2000. All patches are current.
Most machines are identical. Some machines will show that you have e-mail
immeadiatly, some will not show new e-mail unless you click on another
folder, or on "Jog" outlook. I know exchange is getting the messages and
making them available because I see them come in via the web access. This is
a client problem, as a user can go to a different machine, and not have a
problem. It's like Outlook is sleeping, and we do not have it set in cach
mode. Any ideas?

Hi,
I had to troubleshoot exactly this problem today. Found out that it is the
firewall in XP SP2 that is causing this behaviour. Try to disable the FW to
make sure and if it is the case you need to allow the exchange server to
cantact Outlook to inform about the new messages.

Leif, YOU ROCK! I had not thought about trying that one. Turned off the
fire wall and things magically started working again. You would of thought
that MS would of built that passage into the firewall. Did you find the
settings you needed to make it work, with the firewall on? If so, could you
share.
Thanks Tons!
