POP3 Timeout Message Using Outlook 2002

Just the other day I thought I had Exchange working
properly.  System Manger showed one message in my mailbox
and I was able to retrieve it from home via POP3.

However, as of today my Outlook continually times out on
the POP3 server.  I can send to my test account and System
Manager shows them.  I just can't get em now.

The test account option passes everytime.  Any suggestions
please.

Do you get any errors?
Why not use OWA, tho?

Only error I get is in Outlook about the POP3 server not
responding.  I restarted server and it is working now.
OWA?  I have thought about it but not sure what to do or
how to setup.

Thanks.  YOu have helped me in past and I appreciate it.

It's set up already - you just have to open up access to it through the
firewall (port 80 by default, to the Exchange server's private IP, but I
recommend installing/configuring SSL & using port 443 instead).

Then: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/exchange (xxx... being your public IP) or
whatever A record your public DNS has that points there.

I did get OWA configured and it works allright.  But I'm
back this morning with the timing out issue of the POP
server.  So now I have to assume (only one user and that's
me checking and sending mail) that it might be a setting?

Any help again appreciated.

I don't have a POP account set up to test with, but you can change the
timeout in the account, I believe....
